When you ask a child what they want to be when they grow up, you usually get answers like a policeman, a doctor, an astronaut, or a marine biologist. I’ve never once heard a child say a Human Resources Manager.

When you ask a graduating high school senior what they want to go to college for, you get answers like “to become a doctor,” lawyer, engineer, or a physician’s assistant… never a Chief Human Resources Officer.

The truth is, Human Resources isn’t a field many aspire to enter, at least from the onset. It’s something you find along the way, or maybe even something that finds you.

My journey began just over a year ago.
